A call for help with NiftyGUI

Hi there,

I have hit a bit of a roadblock on how to create my menus. I’ve been seeing that Nifty GUI has some sort of JME2 backend (http://www.jmonkeyengine.com/forum/index.php?topic=13658.0).

Would anybody that has been through this process be interested in taking me through it!? Happy to talk via Skype, or just web chat if you prefer. I just need to get started really. If I can get things working, then I’ll put a wiki together on it (there isn’t one yet, is there?).

I can offer beer on my next visit to the states (I travel around a fair bit), or dare I say a local pint if a Londoner were to offer their help!

BTW, I did try downloading the projects, but they wouldn’t compile. I’m an “ant” man myself, so didn’t really get where to fix it.

Yours very hopefully

Richard

will you send beer to germany now? :stuck_out_tongue:

Ahh, yes, of course I will ship beer, but German beer is the best anyway!

Thanks for these links.

One question (which may become apparent when I get in to the tutorials a bit). I can see the demos, but is it straightforward to create (for instance) a GameState that is a Nifty window? What's the "preferred" way to do this?

Cheers again

Richard

You create nifty node and attach it to rootNode of the game state. :)

Then you obviously didn't try our Flemish beers yet. West-Vleteren ftw. Best beer in the world (hey, no kidding, it's official)
