Finished and published! Thanks for the help guys. Here’s the play store link if anyone wants to give it a go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.thegianteagles.simple_shaped_android
Next I will be implementing some niftyGUI to get things looking nicer.
UI would be nice to put the game details inside the game as a popup or something. The person needs to read the part about the game camera being moved as its really impossible to play without moving the camera. 3-axis platforms are really hard to play due to depth issues and the starting camera angle is really hard. I would think this would be better as a top down or side view. Its already hard enough moving the object much less jumping to the next shape.
Thanks for the feedback!
Haha yes it’s intentionally very difficult, you’re not meant to be able to finish it, just try to get a big score. Here’s the pc version which is much easier (but has no UI, yet)
Controls are: wasd to move, space to jump, mouse to move camera, shift to reset and tab to invert camera controls.
Interesting idea and I love the fact that the shapes makes for the difficulty to be in control of the game.
BUT, I do tend to agree with @sutabi, the game is really very difficult and it might frustrate the crap out of anyone trying it for the first time.
I would make it easier at least in the beginning of the game.
And then well done on getting and Android game through the process and onto the play store.
Welcome to the CLUB…
Thank you! Believe it or not it’s actually easier with the isohedron than with a ball! I might change it to start with a high-wire and have less jumping. Also possibly add more shapes to control.
Very very difficult atm, my girlfriend has suggested that my next game only require a tap… And I’m struggling to come up with something original for that
And thanks, glad to be here
