I was bored tonight and wanted a challenge. So I decided to get intimate with the new shader node system in JMonkey and give myself a huge challenge to keep me occupied. The challenge was to make a shader that renders a 3D rotating sun with coronal mass ejections on a simple quad. Yes a shader that renders a 3D fireball rotating but drawn on a 2D quad … how hard could it be? … well, 13 hours hard But I did succeed
Enhanced the shader a bit for a better effect.

I added a glow effect to my shader, This is the final version of the sun. Now it’s game worthy
