Applets are dead! Alternative?

Wow! It’s being a while since my last post here… I kinda missed this community
Ok… I have developped an interactive JME application and I was expecting to move it onto the web using java Applet. Now obviously all the browsers dosn’t use applet anuymore, except for IE and Safari but in middle to high security, what should I do??? using three.js or (MAYBE :relaxed:) webGL? Can I do it fr interactive 3D application?
Thank you in advance!

Three.JS and Goo Engine are example of good 3D javascript libraries using WebGL. You can also look at ShaderToy to find some epic shaders running in WebGL. SO yes, WebGL is getting there but browser support and performance is changing all the time so the answer to your question is “maybe”

I’ll show myself out

If anyone still believes this isn’t already heading down the applet path then they are in for a rude awakening.

Flash player works in Chrome, while Unity player don’t :chimpanzee_winktongue: had a lot of fun last year when PO decided to port all his Unity games to Flash as it was only stable enough solution at that time.

And there are some interesting projects involving both Google and Adobe… Not set in stone yet, but chances are that I’ll have even more fun while looking at faces of Flash haters distorted in disbelief.

So I assume that the safe path is java-script based technology, many web sites are using javascript and I don’t think that Google or Mozilla will make the bad decision by blocking it. So my question is "which JS technology is suitable for making Ineractive 3D web application (MAYBE virtual reality application)?

…Turbulenz may be interesting…

I have looked into this one, and it seems interesting, but have not used it.
