As I’m doing a Rhythm Game, I would like to add some nice background effects like every rhythm game around there like this :
And I don't know what's the better way to do that. By adding a background video or a particle emmiter with rendered images or what :)?

I agree, particles for sure!.. would be very easy to achieve a look like that. You could also control colour, speed and size then have it interact with the game mechanics if you want. Plus it wont loop and will consume far less file size in the end.
Procedural effects all the way.
