Bloom and fog result in completely black scene

i dont know if this was discussed before (not on the last 10 pages though),

but these filters give me a headache.



on my msi notebook with ati mobility radeon 2400 (yeah top hardware^^), fog and bloom

work perfectly, but not on any other machine. tried 3 different desktop pcs that all

end up with a black scene (frames und stuff on lower left still visible).

water, depthoffield and everything works, but when i enable bloom, or fog, the whole scene is messed up.



is that a known issue? strange, that it runs on low end hardware, but fails on high end :confused:

black screen is often a shader compilation error (output in the console), do you have the log by any chance?

for the record, no, filters are not meant to work on low end computers and not on hight end (would be more the other way around btw :stuck_out_tongue: )

Dof and Fog are disabled at the start and enabled once the camera goes below a certain spot (in this case, under water).



by the way,is there any way of getting the water to be visible from below? above the water the waves and stuff are working, but once you get under the water “line”, its as if it wasnt there at all.

oh and by the way, is building a terrainquad with heightmap and textures that frame consuming?



well, even without anything in the scene, i only get 60fps.

when i add a skybox and the terrain mentioned above, frames drop to 6 or 7.

i run jme3 on a dualcore turion 64 and ati hd2400. i know, it sucks, but it should render a

scene with nothing in it with skyhigh framerates, shouldnt it?

are there any options to improve framerate, or one, that drop the fps for no reason?

Well I couldn’t get much from your test case really.

Also, you are reconstructing the FilterPostProcessor in each makeXXXX() method and adding it again to the viewport. This result in a scene with several filterpostprocessors with one filter each…

The usage is 1 processor and several filters.

This can be what cause the issue.
