At first I thought it was a stupid little problem, but I could not figure it out for a whole day. I want to create a material for a j3o, but when I left-click it at the scenecomposer, the green arrow just moves and there’s no option for creating a j3m file in the properties panel. Also, I sometimes get a renderbuffer ("… not attached" or something) error when I try to open the scenecomposer. I updated the SDK today, if it matters.
Right click to select it.
The selection tool is in the middle of a transition at the moment so it might be flaky the next week.
Press F1 to open the manual which contains info about the mouse and keyboard controls.
Right clicking did not seem to do anything… On the manual, it said “Left-click a geometry to select it”, but that did not make the “create j3m file” to appear in the properties panel. A bounding box just appeared. I think I was able to do that a week ago, but now it doesn’t work for me. But I found a way: I selected the j3o in the sceneexplorer panel, which made it appear.

oO do you use the nightly? note that especially when you deal with assets already its strongly discouraged to use the nightly version.
The nightly version and the guide are not sync’d up yet. They will be when these changes are pushed into the stable beta branch. If you want to use the nightly follow the key controls inthis thread.
But usually to create a j3m (material) file you have to right click on a folder in the Project file and select New → Other → Material → EmptyMaterialFile. Then double-click it to open the material editor.
