Can't create GLSL shaders in jMP 3.1 alpha

I don’t have an option for making new GLSL shader files in jMP 3.1. I can create them externally, but opening them in jMP results in just displaying it as an editable text file with no formatting, coloring, or code completion. I have an option to create new ShaderNodes, but I’m not sure how exactly they work and I’d rather just work with code anyway. I can’t find any related plugin or settings for it either unfortunately.

The plugin we had for glsl syntax highlighting has been discontinued and didn’t work with netbeans 8.
Instead I use another plugin GLSL Syntax Highlighter - NetBeans Plugin detail
This one is not “verified” with NB8, but works fine.
You have to download it and intsall it manually.
