Does anyone know if there are any free models available in COLLADA format?
This seems to be the way to go format wise but unless you have an art department to back you up there dosen't seem to be any free models available.
I kind of want a sci-fi marine character with a gun.

i suppose if somebody knew, they would have posted something. 
There are quite a few places that post 3DS files and such but I'm not sure about Collada. You might have to download the files and convert them to Collada.
