Creating audio node fails – No loader registered for type ”wave”

Hi folks, this is my first time playing with audio in jmonkey, I’m trying to create an audioNode with the following call:

n = new AudioNode(assetManager,“Sounds/testFile.wav”);

which just throws the following exception…

SEVERE: Uncaught exception thrown in Thread[LWJGL Renderer Thread,5,main]

java.lang.IllegalStateException: No loader registered for type “wave”

at com.jme3.asset.DesktopAssetManager.loadAsset(DesktopAssetManager.java:248)

at com.jme3.audio.AudioNode.(AudioNode.java:209)

at com.jme3.audio.AudioNode.(AudioNode.java:232)

are .wav files not supported?

According to the audio tutorial page:

Place audio files in the assets/Sound/ directory of your project. jME3 supports Ogg Vorbis (.ogg) and Wave (.wav) formats.

Is there some type of registration that I need to do before loading wav files?

thanx

NM…I had typed: .wave vs .wav

looks likes its still having issues thought…(Only 8 and 16 bits per sample are supported!)

Guess I need to down sample the file.

Don’t downsample anything. Use Ogg instead. Much better. But that’s just my opinion.
