Details on Quake3 level

Hello master monkeys,

I am currently looking at quake3 level loading and I am first of all very impressed with what can be done with just a few lines of code in jME3. My question has to do with the details of the file.

  1. Has this file been converted somehow from the original q3 format to the ogrexml format?
  2. If yes, how would I go about performing this task? Using blender?
  3. Where can I get more levels? Are there any open source/free levels for downloads?


The level is just a normal textured model like you create in blender. The rest of the magic is jME3 solely :slight_smile:

I am pretty sure Blender3D can import Quake3 maps directly (the .map format), you just have to convert from bsp to map.
