Direct buffer memory exception

When trying to create a terrain in scene composer i get this OutOfMemoryError exception from the SDK.
Terrain size was 2048 with block size of 64 from a 2048*2048 heightmap.
Is there a way to increase memory for the scene composer to prevent this ? Or is the terrain too large ?

Also when i try to start the terrain editor the SDK freezes as soon as any kind of terrain is in the scene. Not sure if this is connected.
