First Round of GSoC 2012 Idea Pages Posted

After discussion in the 2012 ideas thread, I’ve posted the initial set of ideas for this year’s Google Summer of Code.

In the last few hours, a number of ideas with short descriptions were contributed, which need to be filled out and made more complete. Backup mentors are also needed for each of the ideas, so if you are qualified and have the time please speak up!

The ideas linked need review, prior examples of work, images to put on the pages, etc. In order to present a fully complete image of what we want to accomplish these ideas need to be thoroughly documented and thought out. As @nehon and @atomix showed this week, a separate thread for an idea can be a very useful tool.

Agreed! A long topic with various of ideas will be very difficult to folow... Seperation is a good choice !

P/s: Why don't we have voting pages like Gsoc last year?

Maybe a link and a brief of rules+instruction would be nice:

I.e:

No reason in particular, and there's nothing saying it won't come back :) The goal right now is to maximize the number of ideas and to see which ones become the most fully thought-out.

Yeah, that's a good link. It's already on the "main" GSoC 2012 page. I should put links to the other pages, though.

oh well, like last year, count me in if you need a mentor.
