It seems automated, because the jME they are talking about it not "our" jME, it's Java ME (Java for cellphones and such).



It's pretty clever. Looks like they are not after getting hits but boosting search results (since jME has a good pagerank, sites we link will get a boost). To do it unintrusive, and not too often, the post will remain there. They put the links in the signature, so they could even change it in the future (someone must be paying them to boost their pagerank, so once they move on to their next client, they could just update the sigs). Reusing an email adres across different boards is pretty clever too.



If SMF adds rel="nofollow" attributes the links, their scheme won't work anymore (google will ignore the link). Since they are so sophisticated, they might even notice it and stop wasting their time then.
