Free Originally Composed Music & Scoring For Independent Game Developers

I am a music designer and composer based in the UK, and license music to game developers & filmakers through Soughtaftersounds.com.

Soughtafter Sounds provides professional music & sound design to independent game developers, as well as film makers, advertising teams and organisations looking to include an originally composed audio architecture within their projects.

There is presently a large music library with categories ranging from, epic & upbeat, right through to orchestral & emotional.

These are all under the “Free Commercial License” meaning they can be used in development with only notification and a credit required.

Latest track added to library:

Eternity - Epic theme style

Hi, nice free resource you post here. Please refrain from posting such threads in the jME3 Development forum though.

Hi, Normen

I’m glad you like it.

Also, the last thing I wanted to do was to post this somewhere that may become annoying, Where do you think would be best for me to pop this kind of post?

Kind Regards

Grant.

He already moved it into “free announcements” which is where we’d want it

Hey that’s really cool. I listened to a bunch of them and they are perfect for games.

This is a really great resource!

Thanks! I was gonna use http://incompetech.com/m/c/royalty-free/ for my upcoming project but I’ll check out your songs first if they are specialized for games.

I’m currently looking for background music for a game that will take place on a tropical island. Any suggestions? I listened to some parts of Ocean Storm Relaxation and it was nice. Especially since my game takes place near the water. But it was very long and would add 50mb to the size of my game if I take it as it is. I suppose I am allowed modify the song to make it shorter?

thanks nice stuff.

Good stuff. Bookmarked for the future.

Thank you for all the great comments, It makes it all worth while.

WASD, the relaxation style tracks are separate from the rest of the music, it that they are for non-commercial use as a general relaxation piece, which is why they are so long. A category for natural & holophonic sounds is in progress, but as you would perhaps like to use the "Ocean Storm" track, would you like me to create another track for you using the same effects & vst's to a length that suits you better?

Then as it will be designed specifically as game accompaniment, it will be loopable and include a wider sound adding an extra depth to the game. If you think this would benefit you, just leave a reply or contact on (admin@soughtaftersounds.com)
You can also request a particular file type.

Thanks. I can do basic audio editing myself in Audacity so you don't need to fix it for me if you don't want. My game will be non-profit, I'm not sure if that counts as commercial use? I will of course credit you for the music even though I've made it shorter.

Very pleased to hear you might like to use the music, it was only if you wanted it tweaked or changed to suit your game more, but if you would like to use it and shorten it yourself, then I would have no problem with that at all.

Just fill out the very short notification form on the site and your good to go.
