Game Inspiration

ohhhhh… i had to join the group… i didnt expect that… lol… thx

and while we are at it, this page contains the most awesome and unnoticed gems you will find anywhere in the gaming community:

http://www.tigsource.com

there are other similar pages now a days too, but i believe this is one of the oldest…

dont be shy, go all the way back till the webpage even started and look at every single game that intrigues you… minecraft was there way before it was even remotely famous… and who knows, maybe your game might be there someday  i sure hope mine will get that honor

I just today got struck again by the urge to do a Powermonger clone (sorry, you gotta be over 30 to know this Amiga game :D) Theres a guy that started a clone but he seems to change the base implementation etc. again and again, now he’s using Ogre and the game looks like something people on this forum did in a few days with jme  http://arkiruthis.blogspot.com/

i dont know that amiga game, though i used to play more with atari… and commodore 64 xD good times…

i wish someone did a proper UFO X-Com remake… there have been a LOT of remakes, like this forum portrays:

http://forums.2kgames.com/showthread.php?68780-X-COM-Remakes

but most are incomplete… and not really improved at all…

though there’s this guys trying to do something awesome… i sure hope the project sees the light of day eventually…

An idea for you to use, when seeking inspiration; is your own gaming experience…

In our game development team (we are making the Forging Life project), we started building this idea MANY years ago. We are childhood friends, and we spend a lot of time talking about the games we were playing. Or let me correct that, we talked alot about what was missing in the games we were playing. If the game developers juuuust went the ekstra mile, and implemented it that or this way - some of the games would have been perfect. All of these features we missed, are some of the core features in our game.

Thats our inspiration… Hope it helps!

Thanks everyone  I am trying to re-create a game I used to play when I was younger - way back before I had my PC. That is why some days back, I posted so many questions regarding collisions. @normen :stuck_out_tongue:

@glaucomardano, I can’t count the number of hours I spent on that one.

:). One day I will do a game like (or better) that ;).

And I’ll be one of the people playing it
