GeometryList for rendering - Think I need to ask this a different way

Instead of:

Is there a way of getting a reverse of a GeometryList? i.e. All other geometries in a scene?

How about:

Is there a way to get a list of all geometries underneath a specified Node? Owned by the specified Node, or a nested Node of that Node? Basically everything beneath it.
