How many musicians are here?

Lol, I program but have no musical ability :p

Ditto.

Well i did play 7 years keyboard, and 5 years drums, however i got bored of it, and nowadays I’m to busy with stuff to really do music. Sometimes I play a bit with the old 8bit trackers but thats it.

I’ve got my '82 Stratocaster that I adore but I’m a bass player at heart.

Fun story… back in high school before I got in to programming, let alone making 3D applications, I worked at a radio station and was looking to go into audio production. Once the scales of fun shifted from making music to taking apart the electronics involved my course was kind of set.

Also, if anyone wants to teach me to play piano that’d be cool

It's easy, never press two keys next to each other and avoid the black ones :P

But I love dissonance!

Actually, you can do pretty well _only_ pressing the black ones if the song is in the right key. It's the F# pentatonic scale.

Like drums, playing piano is very easy. Hit some keys... when you are done: hit some different keys. It's playing well that is the tricky part. ;)

OMG… I’m dying over here. These have got to be some of the absolute best “How to”'s for playing different instruments I’ve ever heard.

Eh… while we’re at it… musician jokes time…

Q: How do you keep two guitar players in tune?

A: Shoot one of them

Q: How do you know when a stage is level?

a: Drool is coming out of both sides of the drummers mouth

Q: How do you know when a bass player has broken up with his girlfriend?

A: He’s homeless

All I can think of right now >.<

  • Two musicians walk by a bar… :stuck_out_tongue:
  • How you know the drummers in front of the door? - Accelerating knocking…
  • Real life one from a bassist: “Okay, then I play this chord there” – He meant an octave interval

I’m a drummer as well

edit: some stuff…

with Columbus (R.I.P): http://www.myspace.com/columbusound

video clip with Elder Lane (R.I.P.): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9hsblHjZ_I

some funky live stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh67iH4vK-E&feature=share

and of course the music of my first game: Arcadator.com Is For Sale (music by me - I also played the guitar)

probably some other stuff are wandering on the web (like an old black metal band but I prefer keep it secret :D)

Hope you’ll enjoy it.

Nice, not the guitar work I'd generally expect from a woman ;) That shuffle is tough, somebody tried creating his own version of the Satch Boogie? xD The few slips are forgivable ;P

I am an audio engineer so I am working with music and musicians a lot :) I also play guitar as a hobby and make music but thats mainly for myself.. I did the music for the last jME video :D

Heres some solos, first more in my style and the second is the solo of Jerry Reeds "East Bound and Down" from the "Smokey and the Bandit" movie which I just had to play after listening to the music 15 years later ^^

I'm finally getting a chance to listen back through all the stuff people posted... at NOT 32 o'clock. That second clip you posted is freaking sweet! I like all of them... but the country influenced stuff is just spot-on tasty! Nice work!!

Oh… and I sometimes dare to sing my own stuff too… I just never dare to let anyone else hear it >.< It’s pretty much… um… terrible

Fortunately, for guys... if we sing terrible then sometimes the solution is to sing MORE terrible. They call that "style" or something. I think that's harder for women to pull off. ;)

Thanks! Listening to it now I'd like the amp to be a bit grittier :) I like the "lightfooted" groove of western/country, I'm a horizontal listener :) Listening to your recording would have made me smash my guitar and break my fingers (or maybe yours) some years ago though ;)

I think my baby girl might have an issue if it were my fingers :)

(Another one of my odd hobbies)

P.S. That picture contains some of my most loved possessions… let’s see… my snake… my coffee maker… my recycle pile… oh… that other thing that was standing in the way of me and the camera.

He's a frigging copy of you :D You only left the nose and a bit of the mouth for dad xD Looks like that little guy has reason to smile so openly, posing with a snake :)

Well, while we’re sharing… here is my facebook profile pic with my little girl. This is from a vacation at least 3 years ago but I can’t bring myself to change it.

Need to find something more current.

P.S.: You can’t tell from that pic but I have hair down past my waist… at that time it was kind of short in front.

Sorry… more recent ones. And not fair to leave the boy out.
