I am a french student working on Geographic Information.
I would like to import and render a TIN model (shp format) for realistic geo information.visualization on jMonkey.
Is there a mean to import shuch SHP models in a jMonkey project or to convert these data to OgreXML format?
As a test, I also exported a PLY file from SHP (thanks to a GIS software). I saved this as .OBJ through Rhinoceros but jMonkey can’t read this format.
It’s quite a big model. Can’t you see it even if you extend the zoom?
I tried to export it to .3ds format but this can’t be read by Sketch’Up Pro. (it is imported but can’t be seen)
I tried to zoom out, even down scale but i see nothing.
Maybe try to open the 3DS with blender, and then export it to w/e format the engine supports (ogre, obj, or even keep it as a blend file and load it with our blender loader)
Well, I got the same problem.
I tried to import both .3ds and .obj files. Same result. Nothing can be seen.
I think I should create a SHP/OgreXML export plug-in but that might already exist. Do you have heard anything of such a converter?
