Information whether a Spatial is inside a shadow

When shadows come into jme, it would be very useful for me, if i could get the information whether a Spatial is inside a shadow that is cast. Best would be if i would be able to get the information how much of a Spatial is inside a shadow.

In my game i want that the players ship can hide in shadows, so that computer enemies don't detect it easily. I could calculate this information at level design time, but this is not possible for moving objects or moving lights.

Ok, we'll keep this in mind when we are getting shadows in place.

I guess we could just have a castingSpatial.isInShadow(otherSpatial) method?  Otherwise it would be headache dealing with multiple shadows and multiple light-sources.
