jME killed my graphics card =(

I was furiously coding away at some PBR testing, when my machine crashed, upon reboot, hardware fault in my GTX 470 =(

Pulled it out of the case, stripped it bare, cleaned it, 10 mins in the oven at 198 to reflow the solder… enough to drag the old girl back to life, woo hoo … but for how long ???

I think your card is too old and has a bad cooling system

Maybe you just have to clean the cool fan,or all fans on your case. Hardware goes crazy when it overheats, results are unpredictable.

The latest “geforce experience” instructed your card to behave like this: is working as intended.

You could say that…it’s part of the experience

You should have used Unity man… would have saved us a lot of trouble…

At least it died of natural causes. I wrecked an old nvidia laptop card when I got excited during a game and knocked a beer over onto my laptop. Alcohol and graphics card don’t mix.

And one must be careful when licking the alcohol off, those components might be hot still and may render tongue unusable. If it was good alcohol, it’ll totally cover the taste of other stuff flushed from the surface area.
