jMe patch and development cycle

I'm discussing policy changes regarding community support development and making it easier for the community to drive development. I'll make an announcement regarding this shortly.

Okay, but don't post anything till that post cause that way it's going to be your 4000th post - and it should be an important one like announcing!  :D

I Nominate KevGlass as developer

I second that. I love his badass like Starcraft XII looking demos...

Any news yet Mark ??

Did this discussion stop with the newly announced ‘Contributor Policies’?

The new contributor policies didn’t really solve anything, it just (hopefully) improved the flow of incoming contributions. The question of bringing in new blood into the developers-circle is still a very important topic if you ask me. Open source initiative is a rollercoaster, and it seems to me like the majority of jME’s developers are currently downhill. Maybe a new face or two within “the core” could help freshen things up?

Officially nominate someone to obtain developer status on the boards with a poll and with enough yay's they'll get it (that hasn't changed). Of course, that someone needs to want to become a developer.

And what exactly will change when this someone becomes a developer? More responsibility to contribbute to the project along with access to a new board and that's it, or?..

yeah, that's pretty much it.
