I was just wondering how much the engine could handle, and was thinking if someone could post either screenshots or videos of games that are able to maximise what the can do graphic wise???
Depends on what you mean by maximize? Number of objects, number of animated characters, number of triangles, number of complicated shader operations?
Only the first two really have engine involvement. The rest is nearly 100% the graphics card you have.
True, the gfz has a lot to do with how nice its gonna look…
But I’m looking for some sort of visuel comparison with some of the high end engines like Frostbite 2 and CryEngine 3…
ALL IN YOUR HANDS.
vertex, fragment shaders are supported by JME. Postprocessing… shadows, SSAO, Water effects… etc.
here some shaders: http://code.google.com/p/jme-glsl-shaders/
