Memory issue

When loading a texture I get

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

The texture I try to load is a big one (2048x2048 TGA) but my original C++ / Opengl Code handle it without problems? Do JAVA have some limitations or maybe the engine do not accept big textures?

you need to set the java parameters higher

search the forums for -xms , you will finmd ways doing it appropiate to how you run the code ( ide or whatever )
