i don't see any effect, not in my game after i added the pass nor in testmotionblur (except for some artifacts that are barely visible and may as well be produces by disabling vsync. is it supposed not to work?
did you play with the blur strength to get better results?
if i increase the blur strength with '3' i see the blur effect just fine.
but if you set the strength too high, the object is getting half transparent and doesn't look ok anymore, maybe thats what you see as artifacts.
yes, i noticed that. i could see a bit of blurring when freezing the test, but while moving, it was barely noticable.
the motion blurring used in hl2 episode 2 is much more visible.
it's not a very good motion blurring technique. i just implemented it for fun from some paper(my original post is around somewhere). in the future i want to get some neater techniques in for full screen blur, camera motion blur etc (think crysis 2)
i once had a flat screen applying a really smooth motion blur
