Multithreading JVM crash? Help wanted

Is it possible Bullet uses its own thread for physics computation? If so, in order for that thread to access Java state it must be "added" onto the JVM. I am not sure about the details as I've never done it but you could find more details online.

Was the bullet implementation ever finished? As far as i know its mostly experimental.

It is being actively developed by Falken here.

Figured it out.

For all you future JNI developers . . . don't store references to JNIEnv and try to re-use it without knowing what you're doing.

I didn't realize this teeny fact . . . thus problems.

Each JNIEnv reference is only good in the thread that created it, unless you specifically attach other threads to it.  Better just to hand your references through to the parts of your code that need it.

Now that I've got THAT one down, TestStressPhysics is working fine.
