More often than I’d like…

Engine Test Build - Mythruna Wiki

I have implemented what I hope is a fix for the water problem on ATI cards. If you are asking yourself: “What water?” then this may be the update for you.

I’m not sure but I’m hoping with fingers crossed. Let me know.

There were also a few minor performance improvements that may have more or less impact on different systems.

Still looks good here on the n220. Avg 100 fps with full clip range  don’t add multi-play chat and friends list, otherwise I prob won’t get much else done

/cheers! looks good!

Thanks. I put off networking for a few weeks while I try to do more to distinguish myself from that other block-world game that everyone always talks about.

…but it’s coming.

Nope, still no water :frowning:

That's unfortunate... though maybe the fixes will help others. I'm assuming you are still having an issue with the grass block sides, etc..

Have you had a chance to run the jMonkeyEngine3 demos/tests to confirm that their two demos that use bump mapping perform correctly? Just wondering if it's just my problem or a larger problem in general.

Hmm,

interesting. I think you found something because both “BumpModel” and “SimpleBump” both ceased working apparently. I remember that they used to some time ago. Maybe that’s the issue here… nehon needs a call

Cheers

@Dodikles, I’m a bag of mixed emotions. On the one hand, sad that JME3 is broken. On the other, ecstatic that at least this is not my problem.

Hahaha, yeah.

But JME3 is still alpha and people have to keep this in mind. Sometimes it amuses me when people get angry when something is not working or code got broken in the current svn update. Hey dude… it’s alpha!!!

The engine is awesome and the people behind it even more. So at the moment I’m holding back to do my own game project and rather experiment with it because I know that even the API is unstable. So tea time and leaning back

You only call me when you're in trouble

Yeah ok... wise move...

So what's the issue exactly? :p
Normal mapping does not work on macs?

No, parallax bump mapping. On macs, they just show up as a solid flat shade... at least according to the screen shots I've seen.

Normal mapping works. Nearly all of my materials use normal maps and they look ok it seems.

LoL @nehon,

what’s the issue? You tell me!

That what I see when running “SimpleBump”. A simple moving orb…

It used to work. Now go and fix it! :stuck_out_tongue:

done in last revision…but honestly i don’t think it’s the issue for Mythruna, that was just a TangentBinormalGenerator.generate issue…

And btw @Paul it now works nicely on my ati card nice work

Just to be clear, Mythruna has two separate issues: 1) it's water doesn't work on some hardware. 2) none of its bump maps work on Macs.

re: bump maps, my shader's just cut and pasted all of that from the standard Lighting material so if it's something in my code it may be that I'm not setting them up right. Though it's odd that they work on some platforms then.
