NOOB question: Printable user's guide?

Is there a printable version of the User's Guide?  …  such as PDF, or …?

You must be new here - printable documentation?  HAHAAHAAH!! :-o  :wink:



I'd say the closest you're going to get is going through the pages and printing them yourself.  Unless of course the wiki engine has some kind of underlying "printable format" button that works on topics and subtopics - but I'm not seeing it.

Printed material is often convenient for keeping notes.  Surely you've heard of it :wink:



BTW, in my defense, I'm no NOOB to simulation/game programming (15+ years) … just new to JMonkeyEngine.

I don't think anyone would argue with you on the merits of printable documentation.

I'm fairly new to Java-based graphics programming.  I'm interested to see how well things perform … using JNI I'm assuming.



Hopefully I'll contribute something to this forum other than stupid questions and sarcasm.  :oops:



BTW, glad to see posts … implying this site is somewhat active.  I recently discovered JavaOSG … and that it was rather dead.

i think it was a very relevant post :slight_smile:



we are trying to shape documentation up for a 1.0. nothing special said about users guide though, but we all agree that we want to improve the experience for noobs/intermediate (if everyone excuses me for using that word)



anyone up to the task? :wink:

Agree totally. I think we can both keep the topics unpolluted and keep the "party feeling" going(and keep bashing the frog). lets just help out in keeping serious topics on track untill fully answered…

Thanks, sfera…  I'm not trying to be a party-pooper, my fear is mostly that we turn away people who have serious questions, especially when the thread gets hijacked before an answer is found for them.  You guys are all fun to have around and I personally appreciate ya.  (honestly!)  You all contribute a lot by making the forum a fun place to participate.  Taking more of these hijacks to offtopic (or a special frog bashing subboard?) would be great where possible though.  :smiley:

I'd also like to apologise, sfera pretty much hit the nail on the head.



I'd hate to think I was pissing anyone off or even worse turning them away from jME.  To me this thread was answered by everyone who posted before me.  Is that a defence, not really; but I'm just trying to point out its never been my intention to stop any poster getting a serious answer.



Anyhoo, enough seriousness from me; back to being a jackass  :slight_smile:
