Wow, looks nice.

It looks awesome.
From what are you porting it?

…originally was written for windows only (some time back, but not completed)…in main time, i was busy doing some work on consoles development, so everything was stop…so, finally when i have time back to continue, I have decided to took JME3 and use for my projects…

Nice job. Can you share a quick video to see gui, animation in action ?
Do you use only jme3 + home made code or some 3rd party lib, tools ?

…ill upload videos tomorrow…animations are nice and smooth (i think)…entire game engine is written in Java with JME3 only. GUI is my own and i didnt used any 3rd party lib or code for it and same goes for AI, pathfinding, etc…

Ha, very nice… makes me think of Leisure Suit Larry, Monkey Island and so on. Very nicely done.

Fantastic work. Would you allow us to use some of your screens for the examples section on our web page? Ofc it would be properly attributed with a link to your game page.

…it will be my pleasure if game screens could support JME3…In plan is also rewrite of Hoodwink1 with JME3(redesigned gameplay and graphics), as well as last part of sequel, Hoodwink3…not much time was available in past due development on consoles (contracted work), but things are back now…I do have some news regarding JME and consoles (PS3 at this moment), but i will keep that for later…

@Ecco…great to see you here NA…I have also switched to JME…your project is looking great…

As mentioned, your game looks really great… definitely the kind of game I’d play… so I hate to even approach mentioning something I saw that looks a little off… but I’m checking to see if it is engine related.

The kerning of your font seems a bit strange:

Are you using our bitmap text or your own system? If it’s bitmap text then does the source font have proper kerning? How did you convert it? etc.

This was especially apparent in the “we’ll” on the first screen with text as it looks more like “we’ l l”. Kind of a nitpicky thing to mention but I was curious.

…heyy…hello there :)…it is very nice to see some familiar faces here…i have been around here actually, past 5 years or more? :slight_smile: I just didnt post much as i was very busy…anyway, im happy to have time to be back, and fully switch to JME, Nice to see yaaa :slight_smile:

@pspeed
…actually, you are correct…however, there is a reason for that and you will understand if you hear voice over :slight_smile: (guy have something stuck in his nose and need to be removed, and another guy is some sort of ‘aristocracy’, with broken accent…) :slight_smile: Im sorry, i havent made note about it…

So the spacing is on purpose? It might be too subtle then as it just looks like a font problem.

You can see here that every lower case ‘i’ seems to have extra space after (and before,too):

…which seems more like a font problem than simulating an ‘accent’ of some kind.

…well.that is a font problem…not particular one with “we’ ll” as it was on purpose, bot rest you pointed just now, no…its bad font and i have just checked :slight_smile: … so yes, some additional work will be needed, but that will come later, as i have to finish bunch of other things…on graphics you can see that I have some glitches with unclean alpha…I need to check that as well, but its something i do not want bother now as its literally, media cleaning, and not really coding issue, so that will come last… :slight_smile: as for offence…dont you worry…constructive critics is more than welcome…

@David
…here is in game video…i couldnt get it to be smooth and it seems capture also screwed up sound…in game everything is very smooth(110FPS) but somehow, this recorder chopped it up, including sound…anyway, I hope that you can observe animations properly…

Wow you even have voice acting.
Did you do that all by yourself or was it a team job?

Thanks for the video. I’ve some issues (hashing) with the audio.
Once again, great job.
I like camera transition, readable GUI, graphics’ style (I don’t know the english term for “Direction Artistique” in french).

“artistic direction”? Though maybe I’m missing some subtlety of the french version. It’s a term I might use if I wanted to talk about the style of art for a game.

No subtlety in it, you got it right :wink:

@nehon said: Wow you even have voice acting. Did you do that all by yourself or was it a team job?

…yes, it is small team job…Im part of small indie studio(E1 Studio), and this is work we have done for episode2…my part is programming and artistic direction…

we have already released first episode of Hoodwink, some time back, trough EA Origin, and game is greenlighted on steam as well…unfortunatelly, we have had no time to continue sequel some time, as we were busy with other things(we are licensed PS3/4 and Xbox360/One developers), such as outsourcing work for other bigger studios…now we are finally free to continue and finish all 3 Hoodwink episodes, and work on new, fully procedural game. So I have decided to use JME3 for development, as in my humble oppinion, is reasonably speaking, best system available out there and most complete system, with fantastic performance accross wide range of hardware(tested all way down to 86xxGT compatible cards…
