"The Project Darkstar Server installed on your system."
That's one of the requirements I need to have to run the "HelloWorld" example. I downloaded the client and server and extracted it, does that mean it's installed because nothing told me to do any thing else besides download it, I figured you needed to extract it since it was a winrar file.
No offense intended, but how did you get the idea that your project darkstar questions would best be asked on the jME forum instead of their own PDS forum?
I'm asking because somebody else has recently asked PDS specific questions here, and I'd like to know what it is that makes people post their darkstar questions on the jME forum.
Regarding your question, the PDS Server is a rather complex application, I'm afraid you'll have to read the entire server and client tutorials before you can expect to get anything up and runing with PDS.
After you read those documents it should be clear what the PDS server is and how you run it - I guess that's all you need to know for your "HelloWorld example".
It couldn't hurt however if you specified what HelloWorld example exactly you are refering to
I'm asking the question on both forums, it wouldn't hurt any thing to ask.
It creates a lot of extra clutter that is not desirable. It is one thing if you gave it a couple days and didn't get a response from the Darkstar community and decided to branch out, it is quite another to spam several boards that have only a vague connection to it without waiting for a response from the relevant board.

Although I agree.. In all honesty though, we also do get a fair share of JGN related questions here - even though JGN has a dedicated board. But I guess there is a bit of grey area in between, where the libraries interface and touch each other... While this particular question may have been a tad too vague for our forum, I believe some PDS points can also be addressed here, if they actually have something to do with jME :)
Agreed, and I'm not trying to say that no Darkstar questions are allowed. Far from it. I just don't want questions like this that I'm sure will be answered in the appropriate forum before they're ever addressed here to clutter up the board. You are correct, the same is true for JGN, but I fear I come off more like a jerk telling people to go to the JGN forums when it is my project and I could just as easily answer the question…I do try to push people to the JGN forum though.
Ideally, all questions here should specifically relate to using networking within jME.
