Render to texture 8bits

With my ATI 9600 all my render to texture are rendered with 256 colors (both mine and jmetests).

Water effects, impostors are looking very weird … :?

Do you think that's a pbuffer limitation on this card ?



I'm thinking about using FBO instead of pbuffer to render to texture a scene, but I imagine there is some reason jme doesn't use it ?
