SDK won't start projects, has blank menus

Hello folks.

I’ve just tried to install the SDK, but something seems to have gone horribly wrong.

I can’t start a new project and the menus are broken (see screenshot):

I have 1.7 and I’m using Ubuntu 13.04. Vanilla NetBeans works fine.

Here’s what the SDK reports on the About pane:

Product Version: jMonkeyEngine SDK 3.0RC2
Java: 1.7.0_21; Java HotSpot™ Server VM 23.21-b01
System: Linux version 3.8.0-19-generic running on i386; UTF-8; en_AU (jmonkeyplatform)
User directory: /home/d/.jmonkeyplatform/3.0RC2
Cache directory: /home/d/.jmonkeyplatform/3.0RC2/var/cache

I’ve not used NetBeans before so not even sure where to start with this.

Any ideas?

I followed the troubleshooting steps, but I’m still getting the same problem. Here’s the log.

You don’t seem to have a JDK installed.

Thanks for checking out the log.

I’m using Oracle’s JDK 1.7. I also removed and reinstalled it just in case. The path is set and it works with other software - including NetBeans proper - but just not the SDK.

I’m not sure what the problem was, but installing the SDK to the default directory (as chosen by the installer) fixed the problem.
