Does anyone know where I can find the sources and javadoc for jme3-core-3.4.1-stable.jar? 
They aren’t where I had expected them to be in the libs folder alongside the core jar.

Yes, unfortunately they are not included in the release. As a workaround I totally recommend using Gradle. There is the Gradle template available.
We’ll try to resurrect them for the next release for the Ant projects. But Ant project templates themselves are an issue we are talking that could be removed someday…
