Sector 50DA

Welcome to Sector 50DA

I started a topic some weeks ago about getting together a small group who would try and create a game together. Check out that topic. We will be using this topic and our new Google Project page for the rest of the project.

Game summary

You start out with a basic complex that has to be defended from attackers. The commander can issue orders using a satalite view or UAV; The other players choose a class and play using a third-person view over the shoulder. There are trucks available that pickup supply drops that have to be protected. Also NPC’s would be roaming around in or outside the complex that perform routine tasks that could be targets for the attackers. With the credits earned from the drops the commander can place defensive structures, buy upgrades or expand the base. The players defend the base and accompany the truck during the supply drop pickup; They can buy upgrades from upgrades machines placed by the commander;

Team members:

  • cheesecake (organizing / programming)
  • baalgarnaal (programming / design)
  • jatheron (programming / design)
  • play (design / maybe some audio)

    Sector 50DA project:

    Check out our Google Project page for more information.

    Current status:

    Starting concept art and creating placeholder models. The programmers try and setup the basic application working towards pre-alpha 1.1;

Very exciting! So starting concept art and placeholder models already, does that mean you’ve nailed down the core concept already?

Care to let us know what your game is about?

Here is a snippet from the game design document.
