is it allowed (and even recommended) to share resources? If I have got 10 geometries, possesing the same material, can I use the same material for all 10 geometries?

Yes, you can sahre meshes and materials, but it doesnt make much sense for materials.
why do you think so? Because a material can have textures which are applied to different geometries posessing different uv coordinates? Yes, of course, if this is the case I would have to have material instances…That’s right.
Because its excessively few data and the shaders and textures are handled properly in the background (no multi-instancing etc.).
Sharing materials is okay, all it does it save a bit of memory really.
