do the standard units in blender match that of the jmonkeyengine scenes? any help would be appreciated. sorry if this is phrased poorly.

Yes, 1 blender unit = 1 jme unit. This will always be so.
A vertex at [1, 1, 1] in blender will never be at [2, 2, 2] in jme (without scaling).

The short answer is “yes.”

If you import using the glTF loader, then in Blender you’ll need to export glTF. This is the recommended modelling pipeline for jMonkeyEngine and has been for many years.

However, there are some pitfalls. For one thing, it’s easy to scale things in Blender and then forget to apply that scale. If you do, the exported model won’t match your blend.
