Website updated to BuddyPress 1.5 – New features, new bugs

@jameskilton that is odd indeed. I can’t reproduce it. What OS & browser are you on?

You could help me investigate by registering on http://testbp.org , the official BuddyPress 1.5 testing site. There you can make a new post in http://testbp.org/forums/ and check if the bug reappears there.

@erlend_sh Editing doesn’t work there either

Okay, thanks for the report. Then it is most likely an OS/browser issue. Please give me your OS & browser details so I can report it, or report it yourself here:

@erlend_sh

I don’t see how anyone is seeing this function. Here’s what I’ve tried, and the all fail to load the editor

Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6):

This issue must be on your side, I cannot reproduce this either on Safari or Chrome or Firefox (OSX Lion) and erlend uses Chrome as well, so… oO

Edit: Maybe its a user level issue, @erlend_sh and me are both admins…

I can’t edit in any browser, so a user level issue seems likely.

@erlend_sh I see the edit link but the page it brings up has no editing window.

Ubuntu 11.04 64bit

Chrome 12.0.742.112

Test user post…

Confirmed, it’s a user level thing. I’ll investigate more and report later. Will be off for most of the day from this point on.

editing works fine for me. Also

[java]“im inside quotes”[/java]

“im inside quotes”

quotes are renamed to the html code inside java tags, maybe other characters are also

Edit: i have to say its a big improvement now since it’s initial release today :), thanks who ever is updating the site <3

Thanks for reporting guys.

@erlend_sh is this new monkey going to stay here? its creepy!

I think it’s subjective. I like it 100 times better than the old one.

As an stand alone art its better, but if you put in the context it doesn’t even stand a chance. But of course its just my opinion.

I always though the old one was saying “go away and don’t bother me”, ie: angry monkey. Where as the new one is saying, with one eyebrow raised, “This looks interesting I think I will try it.” It’s not looking at me angrily, it’s looking at JME with interest.

The fact that some of you see it as “rape eyes” may say more about you than it does about the art.

What context? Now it’s “jMonkeyEngine, bad ass monkey, bad ass engine”

Perfectly fits :stuck_out_tongue:

+1 on that slogan

@pspeed I don’t think the way of interpretation can be used as an ideal manner to judge someone.

And the I was taking the logo + jMonkeyEngine, these 2 as a whole. Never thought someone could interpret as two different items.

It might look cool, if you change the way jMonkeyEngine is written, along with the presentation.

All I am saying is, the logo , the way written “jMonkeyEngine”, green background…they are not in harmony. They look odd. (just my opinion though)

WHERE IS THE F-ING QUOTE BUTTON!!! :evilmonkey: Ok, now that I’ve got that out of the way, I will manually quote… and then close the jme forum for the rest of the day.

Heheh. I was just kidding. There were quite a few people the other day saying the monkey had "rape eyes" or something. Since interpretation is subjective, sometimes it says as much about the viewer as it does about the art.

All I am saying is, the logo and the written “jMonkeyEngine” is not in harmony. They look an odd pair. (just my opinion though)

That would have been an excellent opener that removed any possibility of misinterpretation. I can actually kind of agree with this. Crisp-lined, well drawn monkey head doesn't really go with blurry light-pee-yellow non-bordered text.

Quote buttons are back :ape:
