What is the difference of Spatial and Node?

Reading the tutorials jMonkeyEngine realized that one should carry character using Spatial but the animated tutorial was used Node and ended up not understanding the difference between Spatial and Node.

Node is a spatial and also a group of spatials. So a node is a spatial but a spatial is not always a node. Look here
