For the AI part, climbing and go up down stair … I had my jaw dropeed and again my hat off, my hair pulled … How on earth you could do that??? :o:o:?:?

You see how much smooth of the animations blend together, I think he got a complex animation+ AI built up already...

@thetoucher: The animations are also super good smooth and fit together!
For that feeling of intelligent, did you combine these animations :
Prepare for upstar, prepare for downstar
prepare for up hill, pre for downhill

downstart slide
uphill slow reach
walk slow
walk fast ...

@erlend_sh yep, ripped him out in Blender ages ago for something else, using it here as a placeholder.



@atomix @normen is correct, it’s pretty simple… The animations all start and end in the same pose, there is no blending, there is an animation for walk, one for climb up, one for climb down etc … they all fit the tiles. Ladders are handled a little differently but it’s essentially the same (climb down one ladder tile, then repeat the climb down until at the bottom, then play the climb off animation).



This is the same animated character that has been in nearly every Hex Engine video.
