Erreur incompreensible

Bonjour a tous.

Please translate your posts to english if you wish a response.

Bonjour et bienvenue aux forum! J'ai vu plusieurs erreurs comme le v

Merci beaucoup  :slight_smile: en effet c'

Comment tu vas y arriver sachant que la doc est seulement en anglais ??

(how will you get along without any french doc ??)

Je devine qu'il

your french is good cbratton  :-o how comes ?

Hey fellars,

Support for different languages is great, however this is primarily an English site.  Therefore if someone happens to have the same problem (and doesn't speak French) they can gain NO help from these posts.  So maybe a quick translation (simple memo) would help someone else ;).

Please don't take offense, this is not meant to be a slight; however if this was primarily a Spanish site I would be the one expected to speak Spanish (and rightly so).

(Before you call us all stupid Americans know that I can communicate in Spanish and German, just not French; although I am not fluent in anything but English)

There is nothing stopping someone from creating separate French javadocs ;)
(Except maybe not knowing French)

I don't want to picture the amount of work it would take  :P. Would be nice though.
Is there a way to know which country is the most represented among Jme users ? (apart from the english spoken countries  :P)

I use the english javadoc but I thought my english is too weak to exprime my problem in here and understand the reponses.

I think German language is strongly represented. But I may be wrong. Browse the members list - many have Location listed.

I would also like to support basixs statement. I myself am not a native English speaker and I imagine there are many people visiting this site, who are not. Changing the language seems… like breaking a contract to me :slight_smile:

If you feel unsure about your English skills, perhaps post your question in both languages. Someone who understands you can answer in your language and also post in English. Others use just English. But there are several people on this forum who seem to enjoy using their language skills and/or babelfish to help people, so I imagine you would get some French replies also.

Sorry, I was just trying to help the guy out.

For posterity, the solution to the problem was by setting his classpath appropriately.

The following is their code:

protected void simpleInitGame() {
// Make a box
Box b = new Box("Mybox",
new Vector3f(0,0,0),
new Vector3f(1,1,1));
rootNode.attachChild(b); // Put it in the scene graph
}

And the error message:

GRAVE: Exception in game loop
java.lang.NullPointerException
   at com.jme.scene.Text.getDefaultFontTextureState(Unknown Source)
   at com.jme.scene.Text.createDefaultTextLabel(Unknown Source)
   at com.jme.scene.Text.createDefaultTextLabel(Unknown Source)
   at com.jme.app.BaseSimpleGame.initGame(Unknown Source)
   at com.jme.app.BaseGame.start(Unknown Source)
   at core.Main.main(Main.java:14)

Anyways, I was just using a translator.  So, knowing that they used SimpleGame and the problem was getting the font texture we can assume that the classpath is wrong or that the resource is missing.

Trying to help a member with a problem I knew the solution to was my concern, not whether or not it was in English - hehe, sorry.  I think that if someone wanted to translate jME that would be great too.

Please don't be sorry, there is no need :).

Thanx for the repost with a translation, LOTS of people have classpath issues; probably people that need French help on it also.

Oh yeah, and on behalf of LCmaster thanx for the helps :)  (not that he didn't I just wanted to also)

Helping people is definitely THE most important thing, and I am NOT saying that you shouldn't help in French; it's just a little better if language is not a barrier to getting and trying to help. That goes for any language; English, French, Klingon, etc...  So keep up the French if it helps, just try to keep the English folks included.  :)

well, you can get an impression from that thread

I guess I am an arrogant American  ,  I assumed I was in the majority.

I hereby volunteer basixs for the Klingon translation. :wink:

I would if I could, but Klingon doesn’t even have a word for monkey  :’(

Does it have rules for including new words in the language?  :stuck_out_tongue:

i'am okay to participate to a french version of javadoc, and even of the wiki, if someone is okay for buiding a translation team … i guess it would help a lot new incomers to start and get some graphical results…

offtopic but, i was wondering if it ll be an update of the wiki, because i think it's a strong ressource to start and implement code … there are still lots of topics not written and it should help to get a functional game … :slight_smile: (from my point of view, ilke a real terrain generation implementation, with folliage, water generation, huge ground with multitexturing, lod, etc etc etc, i know there are topics in forum talking about most of this point but it would be great to learn about only one tutorial which has more chance to be optimized than different sample code)

As it’s interesting to know, I have created a poll for the represented languages -> here.
