Congratulations on getting your game on Steam! Always glad to see someone make it! While technically your game is not finished but at least it seems to have somewhat clear goals and commitment as to have it in Steam.
I’m going to ask some tough questions though, I hope you don’t mind.
From the videos and description, I don’t get the sense depth, or rather length. Game seems very simple, so the playability I suppose is based on how many levels there are and what is the expected run time of a level. I get the feeling that there is only 3 different and really short levels. At least then the asking price seems a bit steep. What I would suggest is that this play length would come more apparent from the description or videos.
Another thing is the advert for Java. I mean, whatever you think the selling point of the game would be is fine of course. Personally I think engine and language are highly irrelevant and actually very misleading. As these might have a big mental imprint in consumers’ head. Both, in good and bad, and… in case of Java… well, I would say it is bad Even given Minecraft and Slay the Spire, Java just doesn’t really raise anyone’s hopes. Of course these are the loud mouths in your game comments and I would never know if they would buy the game anyway even if it was written in their favourite engine and language. Most likely they would not, but if you want to avoid the discussion and weirdly based negative reviews in the first place.
This latter thing is something that I get very often with OpenKeeper. Reddit, my Discord server… Java question is always there. Personally I just find it tiring.
