Javadoc update patches

I did a quick pass through the javadocs and killed off most of the easy warnings. I put the 3 patch files in a zip:

Thanks! Applied these locally. A few lines of the patch failed to match up with the slightly newer code I have, so if you see a line or two that isn't up to date on the next checkin… that's why.
