imo no, what this engine needs are bugfixes, features and many more reference implementationis and tests. Idiot friendlyness is something for a framework or engine that is based ON jme.

This is way out of scope for us. Working with databases in Java is incredibly easy though: http://www.vogella.com/articles/MySQLJava/article.html
