Light and render pass[Solved]

Im trying to use dynamic lighting on the TestIsland example. but i got no luck at all so far.

the lighting does work. however the terrain does not get affected by the diffuse color of the light when it changes.

can anyone tell me what i need to do?

simply apply light state to the root node instead of the root pass  :D
