Metaballs mesh export from blender to ogre

I have created a character using metaballs in blender. I am not able to export this character to ogre xml format. The exported doesn’t give any error/warning. Are metaballs not supported for ogre export?

Nothing like this is supported by the engine or for live rendering per se. Bake such modifiers to your models because as all the export tutorials told you, you are only supposed to have a clean mesh with color, specular, normal and light maps.

Thanks @normen , I have converted the metaballs to mesh in blender (Command: Alt - C, Mesh from Curv/Surf/Meta/Text), and then it exported fine.
