Model and Terrain Size How much is too much?

Hi there!

I’m loving the game engine so far! But I have some questions about the terrain editor.

What size should an average terrain be? How big is too big? How small is too small?

What size would the average character model be? I notice if I make the terrain size very large the terrain editor object (even at max size) is very small compared to what I’m working with.

Would this mean my models should be very small compared to the terrain?

I understand the measurement for the editor is world units.

What would the average human-like character be in WU so I can build my world around that.

It’s impossible to answer this without knowing your target hardware etc.

In general though more polygons are preferable to more objects.

In most cases one world unit = one meter. That’s a convention lots of people use, you don’t need to though depending on the game you are making.
