Among other things…
There was a bug in the object blueprint retrieval that caused the background builder threads to hang… these are also responsible for loading and generating the terrain so when the bug cropped up it would at best cause performance problems and at worst cause the terrain loading to stall completely.
Also, I nerfed the daytime bloom a little because the new material type was beyond bright.

Just for your info:
My notebook has 2 GPUs I can switch.
One for the eyecandy stuff (ati HD4500 mobile I think) and one for saving the batterypack (some intel onboard stuff).
Funny thing: the onboard GPU can handle Mythruna … with amazign 3 fps … and the ‘real’ graphicscard crashes the game at startup. So its definately a problem with that GPU.
There have been changes made to the bloom filter in the last week or so that clean up some issues. I have incorporated these into Mythruna for the next release (maybe today). So we can see if that fixes it and go from there if it doesn’t.

Is there a way to force your driver to only run the ATI discrete card? There are often oddities associated with switching graphics cards on the fly, it would be good to be able to see if this is a contributing factor early on or not :)
I usually only use the ATI card, there is a special switch (like a w-lan switch) on the notebook to change the graphics. Other games like, metro 2033, fallout 3, oblivion, sims 3 and whatnot work like a charm so the ATI card is defiantley used. The onboard GPU has no power at all so these game would not work. Even Mythruna gives me only 3 FPS.
When I press this button a box comes up asking me if I realy want to change the GPU, confirming that leads to some very short black screens while the laptop switches. So I had the following situation:
Starting up Notebook, using ATI => Mythruna crashes
Swtiching on the fly ATI to Onboard => Mythruna works
Switching on the fly Onboard => ATI => Mythruna crashes
I hope that info is of any use for you.
Regards
Not to mention the fact that it used to work before some change (I’m pretty sure) in JME.
Thats true, dunno what version of Myhtruna was the first not-running version.
I don’t want to bother you, just to keep you updated with that issue as I wount be the only one with these problems.
But I have hopes that the upcoming version will work…
Well I guess that’s ruled out the issue I was proposing… Thanks for humoring my curiosity at least
