And that’s why I personally prefer maven to keep my build scripts as simple as possible.

Heading this off now: why maven is objectively the inferior build tool is perhaps the topic of its own thread and not worth diving into here. Perhaps IDEs work around most of the deficiencies of maven.

If you have no familiarity with either of them then the JME community will provide better support for gradle and you will type an order of magnitude fewer < and > symbols.

If you already have familiarity with one tool or the other then use that.

of course, for someone who is new to java build tools I would recommend using the one the community adopts the most, even the “g” one.
