Short simple questions about height map :D

Hello, thanks for taking time reading my questions btw :smiley:

I just wounderd… Can I assign more than 3 colors to a heightmap and assign more than 3 diffrent textures to make my terrain more exciting?`

I meen, other than dirt, grass and rock, I need: Gray rock, snow, ice etc…

So could I then in a colormap for a heightmap, assign yellow to be gray, grey to be gray rock and white to be ice and still have red as grass, green as dirt and blue as path?

You are talking about the alpha map right? not the height map?

I think Sploreg planned to increase the number of textures available with the terrain shader.
