Since the question comes up very regularly:
Uploading pictures directly to the forum is disabled due to lack of space and that won’t change anytime soon.
Our current suggestion is to use https://imgur.com/ and then just post the link to the URL of the image itself (right-click Copy Image Address or have a look at what it suggests you as links).
If you post a link to a image file, the forums will automatically embed it, so there is no difference between uploading it to the hub vs. to imgur if done correctly.
The same applies for gifs by the way, if you embed gifs then they will be displayed in-line the same as posting the link to a youtube-video will show the embedded player.
